It's wonderful - taking the little train for a tour costs 20 AUD per person and is very enjoyable. The environment is excellent with many plants to admire. If you have enough time and energy, you can also explore the area slowly on foot.

This is definitely a place to visit next time, but for the botanical gardens, you need to consider the right season.

Here you'll find many beautiful plants, including some rare species, with extensive green spaces. As you'd expect from a botanic garden, the diverse plant collection is really the main attraction~

The botanic garden stretches along the coastline, and at one corner, there's Mrs. Macquarie's Chair - a perfect vantage point for viewing the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

Walking into the Royal Botanic Garden from behind the Opera House, following the coastline to its deepest point, you'll find the famous Mrs Macquarie's Chair. It's similar to China's "Waiting Wife Stone" - legend has it that after Australia's fourth governor Macquarie returned to England for duty, he never came back, leaving Mrs Macquarie waiting endlessly at this spot.

While everyone takes photos of the chair itself, the view from sitting in it is actually more spectacular.

As the sun sets, find a rock by the shore to sit on and watch the boats surfing the waves against the distant backdrop. There's movement within stillness, and stillness within movement. It makes you wish you could gather a few close friends to sit there, feeling the sea breeze and listening to the waves while having heart-to-heart conversations.

I must say the Botanic Gardens has impressive green coverage. You'll see locals sprawled across large patches of lawn, daydreaming, reading, or chatting... The gardens are extensive and free to enter, worth spending plenty of time exploring. There are lots of birds, and we happened upon a "Bite Me" plant exhibition showcasing local insect-eating plants, complete with live insect experiments. They put great effort into educating children about plants through videos, models, and other displays. Following the garden's signage leads you to Mrs. Macquarie's Chair.

Sitting on one of these benches to read a book, contemplate life, or chat with friends on the lawn is truly a delightful experience.

At the Botanic Gardens, we noticed Aussies have boundless energy - even at midday, there were people jogging everywhere and playing rugby. The scenery is truly beautiful, the air is fresh, and there's an abundance of birds - seagulls, ibis, ravens, wood ducks, magpie-larks, and more. None of them are afraid of humans. As a foodie, it was torture seeing all these potential delicacies right at my feet but not being able to eat them! My father-in-law went into full photography mode, taking pictures everywhere along the way.

It opens at 7 AM when there are few tourists - mostly locals exercising and jogging. The garden features various plants, including Jacaranda trees. Picking up some fallen purple petals from the flower-covered paths is one of those small morning pleasures~
