Sydney Fish Market

Inside the market there are various distinctive seafood restaurants. We spent 428 AUD on lobster. It seemed like mostly Chinese people were dining inside, while Westerners either bought raw oysters to go or ate fried food outside.

The dining environment inside was really quite basic and unremarkable. Surprisingly, we just looked around and left without eating anything.

Very crowded and lively, with lots of birds that try to steal food. The seafood was amazing, though it was a small disappointment that we couldn't get sea urchin and sweet shrimp today. Would come again!

Sydney's fish market is like Melbourne's Victoria Market - a must-visit spot for tourists. However, while Victoria Market is large, the fish market is quite small. Built along the coast, you're hit with a fishy smell as soon as you enter.

Of course, visiting the fish market means trying their seafood. We bought Scallops with cheese, abalone, and spicy lobster. The scallops and abalone were decent, but I felt the lobster wasn't very fresh.

It's quite touristy. The food quality is decent, but according to a local guy, the prices are too expensive. Locals don't eat there.

Worth a visit - the Australian lobster and abalone there are delicious and authentic! The abalone is huge - you can tell just by comparing it to your hand! The lobster is also excellently prepared, served with noodles underneath - absolutely delicious!!!

What impressed me most was the exceptional quality and reasonable prices. The market offers an incredible selection of both local Australian seafood and imported delicacies. It's truly a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates fresh seafood at great value.

Don't like it - unattractive, expensive, and poor service.

It's a place for seafood feasts. Got ripped off a bit on our first visit, but the food tasted really good.

The fish market - the restaurants inside aren't particularly cheap for seafood, and are actually a bit overpriced and tourist-trappy.

Since we visited during Chinese New Year, prices were significantly higher than usual, and the place was crowded predominantly with Chinese tourists.

When visiting Sydney, the Sydney Fish Market is an absolute must-see. Here you'll find an incredible selection of fresh Australian lobsters, live abalones, plump scallops, and various shellfish. Simply purchase your seafood of choice and let the chefs know how you'd like it prepared. Within minutes, they'll transform your selection into a delectable feast. Grab a table by the wharf and enjoy your meal with seagulls for company - it's a quintessential Sydney dining experience.

The Fish Market has become quite a popular tourist spot, and while there have been talks of demolition and reconstruction, work hasn't begun yet. The food quality is decent - nothing extraordinary, but the seafood is undeniably fresh. Just be warned about the tables - they're often marked by seagull droppings, as these persistent birds constantly waddle around right next to your table.

Really delicious and I saw the biggest crab ever.

I'll probably remember this for a long time. The Australian lobster was excellent, but half of one was more than enough for one person. The sea urchin was amazing - I've never had such large, fresh ones before. I shed a tear of sympathy for myself who had only eaten refrigerated sea urchin until now.

Really amazing, a food lover's paradise - you absolutely must come here!

This is a great place to experience local customs and culture, featuring excellent food and cultural products.

Australian lobster costs 180 AUD per kilogram - spent 440 AUD on one meal. Feels really expensive!

Not as good as Melbourne's Queen Victoria Market, and it's not very convenient to get to - too far away.

A must-visit place for seafood in Sydney - there's a wide variety of seafood to choose from, and the prices aren't too expensive.
