Sydney Harbour Bridge

Just drove by. It's fairly ordinary, mainly because it's quite old. Still, it's worth seeing once.

I didn't expect the walking distance to get up the harbour bridge would be so far. Even though I quickened my pace, I couldn't reach the top during the best lighting conditions...
Standing on the bridge feeling the gentle breeze, a large ship slowly passed underneath with its horn blowing. I suddenly realized that any time can be the best time, as long as you have a free spirit...

This is one of Sydney's landmarks and one of the few large bridges in the world that you can climb!

The Sydney Harbour Bridge climb offers different options: daytime or twilight climbs, English or Chinese language tours, and inner arch or outer arch climbs. We chose the English daytime outer arch climb. Before climbing, the guide gives everyone very detailed safety instructions and movement techniques, and helps everyone put on safety equipment and headsets one by one. The guide was super enthusiastic, sharing the bridge's history throughout the journey and taking photos of everyone at designated photo points. At the first photo spot, you can already see the Sydney Opera House and the entire harbor below. Looking at the beautiful harbor and azure waters, I think even those afraid of heights would forget their fears. The sound of cars zooming below and the vibrations from passing trains make it a truly unforgettable experience. You can enjoy a unique view of the city from here. At the end, we received climbing certificates and free group photos. Of course, additional photos and videos cost extra - we purchased the full photo and video package for 60 AUD.

I have to say, seeing the Harbour Bridge up close is truly spectacular and overwhelming - something that photos simply can't capture.

At Circular Quay Station, you can enjoy views of the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House - it's probably the station with the best views in all of Sydney. Taking ferries to Watson's Bay, Manly, or other locations lets you experience different angles from the harbor. But the best experience is probably climbing the bridge - you can choose sunrise, sunset, daytime, or nighttime climbs. The ticket to climb to the top costs around 300 AUD, but it's really worth it.

It's just a bridge - you can take a boat ride along the river to experience it, but it's totally fine if you don't. Just taking a quick look is enough.

Didn't climb up, maybe next time...

We jokingly called it the "Lupu Bridge". With advance booking, you can climb to the bridge's highest point for what must be amazing panoramic views of Sydney. Unfortunately, due to strong winds and rain, we had to skip it.

Simply stunning - whether you're on the bridge or under it, it's beautiful from every angle!

Looks nice from afar - like a giant coat hanger. Up close, it's nothing special, though walking across it might give you a different perspective.

Darling Harbour's basically Sydney's entertainment central - right on the water with loads going on. The restaurants line the waterfront, from fancy seafood places to casual spots. Nice place to walk around after dinner, especially when they do the fireworks on weekends. Gets pretty lively at night with all the bars and the LED light shows. Bit touristy and not the cheapest, but it's got a great vibe, especially for families with the Maritime Museum and SEA LIFE Aquarium right there. Easy walk from the city too!

From the harbourside park, I watched as the bridge merged with the Opera House into one view. Walking across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, I gazed at the stunning night views on both shores - magnificent and enchanting. The bridge serves as a connection, while being a scenic attraction itself.

Thanks to the Harbour Bridge, Sydney's New Year's fireworks are especially beautiful. Besides viewing the bridge from afar, you can also climb it. You often see people looking like tiny ants climbing at the top of the bridge. I haven't tried it myself, but I heard it's very windy up there.

Sydney Harbour Bridge is a single-span arch bridge that was once known as the world's largest single-span arch bridge and is one of Sydney's earliest iconic structures. The bridge, designed in 1857 and completed in 1932, is an important link connecting the northern and southern shores of the harbor.

You can book in advance to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge, but I have to admit, I was already shaking from the wind just standing on the bridge's walkway. I probably would have turned to jelly if I'd actually climbed up the arch!

This is the only bridge in the world where tourists are allowed to climb to the top of its arch. You can choose between Chinese or English guided climbs - those interested should give it a try. We chose to take a ferry around the Harbour Bridge instead, which allowed us to get a close-up view.
