The Royal Botanic Garden, originally Australia's first farm, is situated adjacent to the Sydney Opera House and the CBD. Established in 1816 under Governor Macquarie's direction, the garden has thrived due to the region's favorable climate conditions.

Some specimens even date back to the garden's early days as the First Farm, acquired through seed exchanges.

Plant labels throughout the garden provide historical information about each collection, and the specialized garden zones reflect the site's rich history.
