Australia is like a vast countryside; Sydney, a small town within that countryside. In 2009, obsessed with flowers and gardening, I brought back 8GB of photos from Sydney - mostly landscapes with barely any people in them. Those front gardens I passed by were like living guidebooks, giving me a fresh perspective on home gardening from the other side of the Earth. China's path forward isn't just about rising pork and garlic prices, or some index going up by a few points.

Day 0: Chengdu to Shanghai

Day 1: Shanghai to Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour

Day 3: Blue Mountains Park, Olympic Park, Bondi Beach

Day 4: Koala Park, Aquarium
