Australia Newcastle Area Trip ~
On the weekend after the end of the Spring session, we drove north from Sydney to Newcastle. When people talk about visiting Newcastle, most choose activities like sandboarding or dolphin watching. Since we’d already done those before, this time we wanted to see something different. Sydney’s weather hadn’t been great recently — it rained heavily and lightly on and off throughout our drive. We used Google Maps to plan a coastal route: first from Parramatta (Sydney’s western suburb) – Central Coast (The Entrance North) – Coves Beach – Newcastle city centre – Nelson Bay (our final destination). At every stop, the first thing we did was go to the information centre to pick up brochures and ask staff for local advice. Our first stop was Central Coast – The Entrance North.
From a distance, I thought it was a kangaroo — a bit hesitant to get closer. But sure enough, it really was a kangaroo. Suddenly I felt a bit sad — it was the first time I’d seen a kangaroo that had died on the beach.
Our last dinner in Nelson Bay — a perfect ending to our trip.
