The Sydney Opera House sits on a massive granite platform at Bennelong Point, surrounded by water on three sides. It consists of three sets of giant "shell-like" structures: the Concert Hall to the west, the Opera Theatre to the east, and the Bennelong Restaurant to the southwest. Covering 18,400 square meters, its pristine white design resembles a series of shells, sailing ships about to set sail, or floating flower petals in the air.
