· The three-level exhibition halls are underground. While the building's exterior isn't particularly tall, its intricately carved structure leaves a lasting impression.
· The fourth floor's bright halls feature 19th-century European and Australian art on one side and 20th-century Australian art on the other.
· The third floor showcases Asian and Oceanic art, with a significant portion dedicated to Chinese, Indian, and Japanese sculptures, ceramics, and paintings.
· The first floor displays traditional and contemporary Aboriginal art.

Location
Art Gallery Rd, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia
This is considered Sydney's premier art gallery. What's unique about it is that despite its striking exterior, it doesn't appear particularly tall because much of it is built underground!
It has three underground levels and two above ground. Different visits might present different exhibitions, though the Australian artists' works and Asian exhibitions remain permanent fixtures.
To be honest, the exhibits aren't particularly spectacular, and the quality of works varies considerably, especially the oil paintings which are generally mediocre. The collection isn't extensive either - you can see everything in about 1-1.5 hours. It doesn't compare to European galleries, so I wouldn't specially recommend it to art connoisseurs. However, besides paintings, there are various sculptures and spatial design installations.
Of course, the gallery does house works by some famous artists, including Picasso, Monet, and Toulouse-Lautrec.
When we visited, there happened to be a party in progress. Everyone was formally dressed, holding champagne glasses and engaging in conversation. We stood out quite noticeably as tourists with our cameras.
