Sydney's Hyde Park sits in the heart of the city, also in a prime location, surrounded by St. Mary's Cathedral and the Royal Botanic Gardens, and just a short distance from Darling Harbour and the Sydney Opera House.

The park has seen many transformations throughout its history. Originally planned as a military barracks, it never actually housed troops but instead became a detention center for transported convicts.
