Hyde Park is located near Sydney CBD, close to the metro station.
Established in 1810, with nearly 200 years of history, it features vast, meticulously maintained lawns. Century-old towering trees make it a perfect relaxation spot for Sydney locals, right in the heart of the city. St. Mary's Cathedral stands opposite the park.
Hyde Park was originally meant to be a military barracks, but after construction, no troops ever occupied it. Instead, it became a place to hold transported convicts. By 2012, it had transformed into a museum showcasing early Australian convict life and precious historical artifacts.
I visited once on a rainy day, then again on a sunny day - completely different scenery and experiences, but I loved the tranquility both times.
