The beautiful Great Ocean Road
84 Views

First stop —— Bells Beach

Today was our first trip after arriving in Australia. Our destination was the famous Great Ocean Road. The driver took us to Bells Beach, which is near the starting point of the Great Ocean Road. This is a natural surfing spot, and there's a well - known surfing club nearby. When we got off the bus, it was drizzling. The wind was quite cold and had a slight fishy smell. The place where we got off the bus offered a view of the only surfer riding the waves on the sea. After taking a few photos, we quickly got back on the bus and headed to the next scenic spot, Anglesea.

Second stop —— Anglesea
Anglesea is a small town with a certain number of residents. We visited the famous golf club in the town. In this club, kangaroos roam freely. As long as you approach them gently, they'll stay calm and won't be scared away. Meanwhile, people are leisurely playing golf beside them. Humans and animals coexist in such a natural and harmonious way. It's truly a beautiful sight. This kind of environment is hard to imagine for those who have lived in the city for a long time.

Third stop —— Lorne
This is also a small town with many small shops selling various goods. I bought a pair of EVU snow boots here. They are made in Australia. The price was acceptable, and I felt they were worth the money.

The view from an observation deck on the way to Apollo Bay

Fourth stop —— Apollo Bay
This is where we had lunch. We went to the beach, and it was very beautiful. It's a well - known fishing spot. The beach is horseshoe - shaped, and the white sand sparkles in the sunlight. In the distance along the shore are farms one after another. The blue sea matches those pastures perfectly. What's most unexpected is that there were hardly any people on the entire beach. It was surprisingly quiet. It's hard to imagine such a place in China. It's truly wonderful.
On the way to Apollo Bay, as the road wound, we felt like we were in a fairyland. On one side was the deep - blue, crystal - clear sea, and on the other side were green pastures and free - roaming sheep. It was really a feast for the eyes.

Fifth stop —— Twelve Apostles (the most famous Twelve Apostles Rocks)
This is the most beautiful and well - known place. The sea here is extremely blue, and the golden Apostles Rocks are incredibly beautiful. There were many tourists here, all vying to take photos. The Apostles Rocks look beautiful from every angle. There are helicopters available for a ride here, costing 50 Australian dollars. The formation of the Apostles Rocks is very peculiar. It's really incredible how the erosion of the sea could create such an effect. Due to the sea erosion, two of the Apostles Rocks are already gone. It's really a pity.

Sixth stop —— Loch Ard Gorge
This is a very beautiful fjord, only two kilometers away from the Twelve Apostles. There's a beautiful story about this place. It's about two people, a man and a woman, who were in a ship accident. They helped each other until they were rescued. Everyone hoped they would become a couple, but nothing happened between them. We walked onto the beach here and took beautiful photos of the fjord. The opening of the fjord looks very small when viewed from below, and it's very photogenic.

After visiting the fjord, we headed back. On the way back, we saw a lot of pastures with many sheep and cows. It was quite interesting that many cows queued up automatically waiting to be milked.
On the way back, we made a short stop in the small town of Colac and saw its war memorial tower.
Then we returned to our accommodation in Geelong.
