One Day Trip to the Great Ocean Road, Melbourne
A self-drive journey along the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne! First station is a lighthouse & Eagle Rock!! It took about an hour from the city to reach this small town. I really love Australian lighthouses - they're so clean and refreshing.
This is Eagle Rock
Our second stop was at a waterfall just 10 minutes away from Lorne, a charming town along the Great Ocean Road
While climbing the stairs at the falls, I noticed the intricate designs on the handrails - such thoughtful details!
After a two-hour drive, we finally reached our destination! These rock formations near the Twelve Apostles - we planned to stay for the sunset view.
Loch Ard Gorge
Nature truly is amazing!
Loch Ard Gorge seems to be the only spot where you can access the beach
Loch Ard Gorge
We found beautiful stones on this beach! Frosted stones in brown, green, and white colors.
The Twelve Apostles
Finally, we're here! The famous Twelve Apostles - seeing them in person is truly better than any photo. The sunset view is absolutely spectacular, perfect for this west-facing coastline.
The Twelve Apostles
Whether due to high or low tide, the sand below the cliffs was being blown up by the wind, creating what looked like a thin mist from afar. I just wished I had a better camera to capture this magical moment!
The Twelve Apostles
The colors changed almost every minute - the cliffs turned golden in the sunset light. A perfect match of blue and orange!
The Twelve Apostles
Finally, the sun touched the horizon! The sky gradually turned pink, and those clouds looked like wings flying into the distance! We didn't get back to the city until after 11 PM.
