This is the famous "Three Sisters" landmark in the Blue Mountains. Legend has it that long ago, three sisters lived in the Katoomba tribe of the Jamison Valley and fell in love with three men from another tribe. However, inter-tribal marriage was forbidden, which led to a war. A witch, trying to protect the sisters from harm, turned them into stone cliffs. But the witch was killed, leaving the three sisters forever trapped in stone form, eternally watching over the valley.
