The cliff faces tower thousands of feet high, while the valley is covered in dense pristine eucalyptus forests and subtropical rainforest, creating layers upon layers of verdant scenery. The eucalyptus trees release oils that create a faint blue haze in the sunlight, making the distant mountains appear blue. There are still village residents living on the mountaintops in the park - be careful when going out at night. Queen Elizabeth II once visited and praised this as the most beautiful place she had ever seen.
Near the park's parking lot, I discovered a group of statues. As Australia was a British penal colony, the statues likely represent this history. Accurately reflecting history is a way of respecting it.
The lakes and mountains create beautiful scenes. The lakeside has now become part of the roadside scenery. While children play by the lake, all we can do is take a lakeside stroll and breathe in deeply.
