Scenic World is the most interesting part of Blue Mountains National Park, where you can experience three different types of cable cars and an ancient rainforest boardwalk - the essence of Blue Mountains. The recommended order is Railway-Cableway-Skyway, though staff suggest Cableway-Railway-Skyway. This is because there are some boardwalks into the rainforest after getting off the cableway, but all stations are together and tickets allow multiple rides. The boardwalk sections are short and won't tire you out much.

▶ Scenic Railway
The most exciting of the three, with a 52-degree incline - the steepest passenger train in the world. I rode it 6-7 times. The car has glass on three sides. Sit in the first row going down for the most thrilling experience and best view. Don't worry about feeling weightless as seats are adjustable. The moment you plunge through the mine tunnel is amazing! If lines are short, you can ride back up immediately; if crowded, you'll need to queue again. Going up, passengers face backward. There's also a rainforest walking track nearby if you don't want to return by train.

▶ Scenic Cableway
Australia's largest cable car, descending 545m to Jamison Valley. Signs lead to rainforest walks of varying lengths, with the longest under 1 hour. The path is rich in negative ions and features recreated coal mining scenes and explorable mine tunnels.

▶ Scenic Skyway
At 270m, it's Australia's highest cable car and the world's first with a glass floor. View Jamison Valley below and the Three Sisters from the side. A 5-10 minute walk from the station leads to a small viewing platform overlooking Jamison Valley and all three cable rides.

Photo Tips: After the railway descent, there's a small viewing bridge where popular Instagram photos and videos are taken. The three glass sides make for good shots. It's fun to film videos - we kept riding to take photos of each other, waving at the camera when passing the bridge, getting other passengers to join in! For photos or videos, be ready with your pose when you see the bridge! Those in back rows should look up. Use action mode for clearer photos. Note that glass reflections are unavoidable, so wider shots work better.
