Highly, highly recommended! Though it's a paid attraction, and I was initially hesitant to visit, I decided to go after learning it's one of the world's top 10 museums. It definitely didn't disappoint!
The museum has an incredible collection of animal specimens. My little sister learned so much and discovered many new animals she'd never known about before. There was even a cute (and slightly scary) moment in the dinosaur exhibition where she got startled by the sounds and started crying - I caught it on video for my travel blog. You can check out my full Australia travel diary for more details.
I really can't recommend this place enough. Whether you're traveling with kids or not, it's absolutely worth experiencing. I personally loved everything about it.
