Don’t Miss Australia’s Freshest Flavor — Tasmanian Oysters
Tasmania, located south of latitude 42°S in the open sea at Australia’s southern tip, boasts the purest air and seawater on earth. As the last stop across the Southern Ocean before Antarctica, Tasmania enjoys a unique advantage: mild four-season oceanic climate, making it the perfect environment for Pacific oysters. Tasmania is the first place in the world to implement an oyster food safety and quality assurance plan, which has become a global benchmark and is now adopted by many other countries and other Australian states. So, you can enjoy oysters here with total peace of mind.

We chose the famous Barilla Bay Oysters Farm in Hobart, Tasmania’s capital. You can order a “Mixed Dozen” of oysters, served in a variety of styles: raw, with bacon, garlic, cheese, ginger, etc. Every flavor is delicious—the meat is smooth, tender, juicy, and completely free of any fishy taste.

We met a couple dining here—their child was adorable and very friendly, so we couldn’t help but play with them.
